Phew! The days are flying by and somehow September has been here and gone in all but a blink of an eye.
One of our big announcements is that we are now officially (and legally) the Novak-Moorhead family. Yes, shortly before Harlow was born, both Brooke and Scott changed their last name to an (admittably long) hyphenated version of both of their last names. That being said, we're still the No-Moors to their friends and families.
Ms. Harlow is now over four weeks old and has kept everyone entertained and in love. She's also been busy with her own schedule of sleeping, eating, pooping, eating, being adorable, eating, etc. etc. She's a strong little baby and has been practicing holding her head up since she was only a couple of days old. Harlow is also practicing smiling, and makes some really cute noises as she plays in her swing or dozes off to sleep. Most recently she showed us how she can pick up her pacifier with her mouth when it falls out ... if it's close enough that is. When the weather is nice she and her Brooke go for walks, which they both really enjoy, though Harlow seems to use them as an opportunity to nap while mom does all the walking.
In general we seem to be adjusting quite well to our new arrival, but the cats (Tasia and Argus) seem some what more nonplussed with the additional family member than their parents. We celebrated our two year anniversary this month and we're heading out for a quick get away, with the baby in tow, to Winthrop, WA, which is near the North Cascade National Park. We'll let you know how the adventure goes in our next posting.
Grandma Novak came to stay with the No-Moors for a little over two weeks, shortly after Harlow arrived, and was a great help with the new arrival (while showering her with hugs and kisses) and cooking and cleaning up the 'shack' at 614 Ballarat Ave. We're still ejoying some of her culinary treats that were put in the freezer.
Grandma and Grandpa Moorhead have also been able to come and visit their first grandchild a few times since she was born. They, along with Uncle Barry, really put in some elbow grease and helped Scott working on some of the remaining projects on the 'shack', specifically working on the roof that has had a leak for longer than they care to admit. :)
While only a few weeks old, Harlow is feeling incredibly loved and has been excited to meet some of mom & dad's friends and is looking forward to meeting the rest soon. Thanks to all of you!
Take a look at our pics from the past month and if you're curious what we were up to the past few months take a look at our April thru August photo album.
With love and hugs,
The No-Moors
